This way you really never have to step foot outside your base if you're setting them up for farming purposes. You can also set up an atmosphere/oxygen harvester inside as well, so long as it's planted on dirt, not a floor you set down. And bio-domes, while cool, also have somewhat limited space, plus you need glass to build them in the first place. ![]() I know you can plant them in hydroponic trays but I got tired of constantly having to feed carbon to numerous ones. What I did was set up a base, then built walls and a ceiling around a section of the ground, and planted a bunch of frost crystal plants on it. I'm sure this was common knowledge for some veterans, but I only came back to the game recently after the initial release. One thing I found out when setting up a frost crystal farm for glass was that you can plant frost crystals on the ground on snowy planets.
